10 tbs. Vegetable oil or bacon fat
1 pinch onion or garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup cold water
1 tbs. Vegetable oil or bacon fat**

Put them o a greased cookie sheet. Bake them at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Let the cool, the store in an airtight container. Originally from the Humane Society in CA.
BREAD PUDDING
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease the inside of a baking dish with LOTS of butter or margarine. Cube 4 slices of white bread and put in baking dish. In a bowl, mix 3 eggs, cup sugar, 1/5 tsp. Salt and tsp. vanilla. Add 2 cups scalded milk and beat with wire whisk.
Pour this mixture into the baking dish over the top of the cubed bread. Place baking dish in a pan of water and bake (uncovered) for about 1 hour. Feed dog of a “pudding” at each meal.
This is especially good for a bitch that has just whelped and doesn’t want to eat. Niggles her sweet tooth, and it’s good for her.

LIVER BAIT RECIPE
1 lb. liver (beef or chicken)
1 cups flour (whole-wheat)
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg
1 tbs. Brewers yeast (opt.)
Dash of garlic powder
Put liver in the blender and blend it a bit, then add everything else (including egg shells if you want), blend well. Pour onto a flat cookie sheet (greased or sprayed). Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Score the biscuits while warm.
You can also just use beef heart cooked in water with garlic until done, then slice it up and dry it out a bit in a 200 degree oven. The dogs love this as well and it doesn’t seem to go as fast.
LIVER BARS
Dog’s luv’em! Make a bunch, freeze them and pull them out to use as
necessary.
1 lb. chicken livers (raw)
2 or 3 cloves of garlic
1 carrot
Puree above ingredients in a food processor or blender
ADD:
1 cup (or more) grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Approx. 1 cup of flour
Approx. 1 cup of cornmeal
Process until the consistency of “cement”. Spread on a BIG sheet of aluminum foil, or on a big cookie sheet that has been lined with aluminum foil.
Bake at 350-degrees for about 30-45 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness. Freeze and use as needed.
MACKEREL TREATS
Preheat oven to 325F, grease cookie sheet.
In a medium sized bowl mix together:
1 (15 oz) can mackerel with broth, mashed up fine (bones are very soft and
no problem when mashed)
2 T garlic powder
2 eggs
2-3 c flour
Mix it all together. Pat into greased cookie sheet so it is about 1/8″ thick. I used a bit of flour sprinkled on the top to make it pat more easily.
Bake at 325 F for about 25 minutes (more or less depending on the amount of flour in it…). Let cool. I cut it into about 1/2″ squares with a pizza cutter. Break into pieces, divide into day-sized portions and freeze until ready to use. This made about 4 day’s worth of treats so I’ll try doubling it for a week’s worth.
PEANUT BUTTER BISCUITS
1 cups oat flour
1 cup soy flour
1 tb. Baking powder
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400. In a mixing bowl, combine oat flour, soy flour and baking powder. In a blender, blend peanut butter and milk. Pour peanut butter mixture into dry ingredients and mix well. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out dough 1 inch thick and cut into squares or use cookie cutter. Place biscuits on baking sheet about inch apart and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Biscuits should be refrigerated or frozen.
SUNSHINE LIVER BROWNIES
1 lb. of calf or pork liver
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal
2 tbs. Garlic salt
1 tbs. Garlic powder
Puree all of the above in a food processor. Pour onto a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil, which has been oiled. Mixture will be thick. Press flat and even. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Brownies are done when the pink is gone. Do not over bake or the brownies will crumble. Recipe may be doubled.
You can also use fresh garlic instead of the garlic powder and/or add parsley flakes for color.
SUPER TASTY DOG COOKIES
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup whole-wheat flour
2 tbs. Garlic powder (may adjust to your smell)
2 tbs. Knorr instant beef stock mix (may substitute veggie or chicken stock mix)
2 tbs. bacon bits
6 tbs. oil
2/3 cup water (approximate)
Mix together well. Roll out to approximately 1 inch thick and cut out with dog biscuit “bone” cutter or some cookie cutter that is appropriate. Bake at 350 for approximately 35-45 minutes. Basting regularly with meat drippings or bacon fat.
When cooled, store them in an airtight zip-lock bag, freeze or give them as gifts. Dogs really love these!!

FROM THE THREE DOG BAKERY COOKBOOK
Ingredients:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
Cooking Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well.
Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/4-inch thick and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack then store in an airtight container.
Makes 30 large bones
HOMEMADE FROSTY PAWS
Ingredients:
1 quart vanilla yogurt
1 medium banana
2 T peanut butter (I use natural style)
2 T honey
Cooking Directions: Puree the banana in a food processor (a blender would probably work fine). Add the peanut butter and honey and continue processing until smooth. Add yogurt and process just long enough to blend all ingredients together. Place 18 small paper cups (bathroom size) in a baking pan (one 9×13 or two 8×8 work well). Fill paper cups to about 2/3’s full. An ice cream scoop or a measuring cup makes the job easier. Freeze until solid. I transfer the frozen treats to zip-lock bags for storing in the freezer.
DOGGIE PEANUT BRITTLE
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Yogurt
1/2 cup Peanut butter
1 egg
2 or more cups of Kibble
Cooking directions: Beat yogurt, Peanut butter and egg together, add two cups or more of a good kibble (in our case, something they like but don’t eat regularly) and mix well. Spread on a greased baking sheet and put in a 275 F oven for half an hour. After half an hour, turn the sheet over. It will break up a bit, but that doesn’t matter. Bake another half hour and then turn the oven off. When everything has cooled, remove from oven and break up into pieces small enough to store easily.
SALMON TREATS
Set oven at 375°
1 can salmon (or mackerel) undrained
2 eggs
1 cup rice flour, split in half (can sub regular flour)
Pour can of salmon into blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add eggs and blend, then 1/2 cup flour, blend, then last 1/2 cup flour and blend until smooth. Pour into 8×8 baking dish (probably want to lightly grease) and bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into appropriate size. This probably freezes well – I forgot to ask. The small pieces were soft enough to mash up with the fingers, but didn’t crumble.
RAJAH’S SALMON TREATS
1 can flaked salmon
2 Cups Wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup water
1/2 liquid smoke
1/4 tsp Rosemary (I use dried and add to the water in the beginning to give it a chance to hydrate)
Preheat oven to 350°F
In a blender or food processor, add can of Salmon (water bones and all), and all other ingredients, and blend until well blended. Remove, and knead until it is a soft dough.
Separate into 2 balls
*On lightly floured surface, roll ball to about 1/4 inch thickness and place on a lightly greased Cookie sheet. I use a pizza cutter and cut into small bite sized rectangle, if you prefer you CAN use this recipe with cookie cutters.
Bake for 20-30 minutes, remove, cool, and pamper the puppy.
This recipe makes 2 cookie sheets of biscuits. I store them in a baggy in the fridge.
PEAMUTT BUTTER
Peamutt Butter
This one won’t stick to the “woof” of your dog’s mouth…
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
1 cup oatmeal
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl combine peanut butter, oil, and water. Gradually add flour, then oatmeal. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a cookie cutter. Place on an un greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
HOWL WHEAT
Howl Wheat
One bite of this bone and your dog will howl for more…
4 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup oatmeal, 1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup wheat germ
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chopped parsley * *Dogs “prefur” fresh ingredients, but 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley may be substituted. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine flour, wheat germ, oatmeal and parsley. Add water and oil to dry ingredients. Knead for 2-3 minutes. Roll dough to 1/4″ thickness and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 375 degrees on an un greased cookie sheet for 30 minutes or until edges start to brown. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
MAYONNAISE FORMULA
4 ounces canned evaporated milk (not the low fat or condensed)
4 ounces natural baccilus plain yogurt found in many health food stores
1 egg yolk
1 Tablespoon mayonnaise not salad dressing and NOT Miracle Whip
1 dropper of infant children’s pediatric liquid vitamin without fluoride
This really did work for me as my orphans were chubby and alert earlier than most. The most important thing is to determine the dailey amount they need to gain and thrive. It would also be beneficial when supplementing a Mother until the milk is plentiful.
HATE TO COOK DOG TREATS
Preheat the oven to 350. Oil a cookie sheet.
Take a pound of chicken livers(which odds are are packed in “liquid” which you should toss in as well), pulverize in the blender. Add in 2 eggs, a cup of flour and a cup of cornmeal and some garlic (you can buy garlic in olive oil in a jar if you want). Blend it all together.
Take the resulting glop and spread it on the sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes. Cut it up into small pieces, freeze and use as needed for training. These will not keep unrefrigerated and are best used for training: I pull out what I need from the freezer.
BOURBON LIVER STRIPS
(not necessary to leave the house while it’s cooking)
Put 1 lb. liver in pan.
Add water to barely cover it.
Put 1/2 c. Bourbon in the water and add a tablespoon of sugar.
Cover pan. Poach it over a low flame.
When done cut it into strips.
Use the light in your oven to dry it to the stage you like for your pocket!
THE SPECIAL SHAKE FOR PREGNANT FEMALES
1 tblspn clear Karo Syrup
1-1/2 cups 2% milk

2 eggs
1 tspn of sugar
Blend in the blender and serve once a day to promote milk production and provide extra calcium.
HAIR GROWTH REMEDY
1 lb. Peanut Butter
1 lb. Honey
1 lb. Diaglo Powder or Mirra Coat special care
1 pt. Lavitamin also known as Lixatonic or Pet-tinic
Have peanut butter at room temperature. Mix all ingredients together. This will be very thick and sticky. Stores indefinitely in refrigerator. Make into balls according to size of the dog:
Small dogs should get 1-3 teaspoons daily.
Large dogs should get 1-2 tablespoons daily
